About Heather

I have spent most of my life working with stories.

Heather McLellan

For more than thirty years, I’ve built a career in communications, corporate marketing, and storytelling—helping companies and leaders find their voices, understand their audiences, and say what matters.

I’ve led communications and marketing organizations, advised executives, worked with journalists, built brands, and spent countless hours thinking about the relationship between a story and the person hearing it.

Yet the story I had the hardest time telling was my own.

I started writing Coming Home to Motherhood nearly twenty years ago, after a five-year journey through recurrent miscarriage and infertility.

I wrote it.

Put it away.

Returned to it.

Put it away again.

Meanwhile, life continued: motherhood, marriage, work, family, loss, illness, recovery.

The manuscript changed as I did.
